In July 2017, David accepted a call to become the senior pastor of Church of the Apostles. David grew up in a Christian home and came to a personal faith in Jesus at a young age and in college sensed the Lord’s leading into missions. After a eight years in marketing and meeting the love of his life, Langley, the couple moved to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to help start Young Life, an outreach ministry to high school students. They returned to the U.S. in 2009 for David to pursue his Master of Divinity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. David has served at Church of the Cross in Boston and at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Raleigh. David and Langley and their three children, Mary Camden, David Jr and Bennett live in Woodland Heights.
Rebekah Maddux El-Hakam
Rebekah helps lead our weekly tome of worship, including writing oringinal worship songs and providing creative direction for our Sunday gatherings. She joined Apostles in 2015, but has been leading worship for more than twelve years. In addition to her passion for Christ and worship, she is a gifted singer/songwriter who has been nationally recognized (more at rebekahme.com). She and her husband Moustapha have four children ages 12, 10, 8 and 7.
Mikah is responsible for children’s programming and discipleship. She has always had a heart for teaching children. In addition to her experience in special education and youth ministry, Mikah brings to bear all the practical experience that only motherhood can provide. She is deeply committed to sharing the power and beauty of the Gospel with children. In particular, she loves the challenge of taking a big truth from the Bible and presenting it in an understandable terms. She is wife to Joey and mother of Eleanor, Lydia, and Lewis.
