Church of the Apostles
1111 West 14th Street
Every Sunday we gather to worship our risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in prayer, song, communion and a Biblically based message. This a time in which we desire to authentically connect with God and one another. We thank God for what he has done as well as anticipate the many things that he seeks to do in and through our lives.
What to expect
Through the use of ancient Christian and spontaneous prayers, singing a blend of new and traditional songs of praise, weekly celebration of the Lord’s Supper, the affirmation of our beliefs through historic creeds and through it all the reading and teaching of Holy Scripture, our worship adheres to a rhythm that has been used by Christ’s followers since the earliest days of the Church.
The Sunday service typically lasts an hour and fifteen minutes and is followed by a gathering time with refreshments in the Education Building or, weather permitting, on the deck.
There is no dress code at Apostles. Those who attend wear anything from jeans and sport shirts or blouses to coat and tie or dresses. Our goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable during your visit hear at Apostles. Please dress as you would feel comfortable.
Family Worship and Children
Jesus taught us that faith in him makes us family and we worship God as family. At Apostles, we encourage children and their parents to worship together. Children infants up to pre-K4 are invited to be in our nursery care called SonShine Kids. This ministry is staffed lovingly by our members.
After worshipping with their church family through songs of praise, children pre-K4 through third grade are invited to go to Kids Time just before the sermon for a time of teaching and worship that is designed just for them. They return to the service in time for communion.
